Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Updated 1 BR Condo-Spectacular Oceanfront Views! Caravelle 838 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
