Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful 1bdrm ocean-view KING suite at Caravelle Resort, On-site restaurants! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
