Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Finding the best vacation home:

  • Start by having your family decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Water views Coastal retreat has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
