Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First, have your group commit to a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Magnolia Lake. Ocean Lakes, pet friendly, Golf cart included. 2 blocks to beach. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. text the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
