Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Waterpark, Slides, Dump Buckets, Restaurants & More! Dunes Village 723 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or could be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
