Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Welcome to your Luxury, Ocean View 2bed/2Bath Condo at Myrtle Beach Resort. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
