Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best rental:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Wyndham SeaWatch Plantation - 2 Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
