Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

How to pick the best rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. ** A perfect place to get away from it all ** has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
