Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. ** A perfect place to get away from it all ** has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
