Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Newly Renovated Oceanfront Deluxe Jr Suite 1st Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
