Tricks and tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. South Side View Two Room Apartment 1st Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
