Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- To get the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose yourrental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. High Floor, Direct Oceanfront Views, Heated Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. - Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.

- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective.
