Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Selecting and booking a perfectvacation home:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Newly Remodeled Direct Oceanfront Sea Watch Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
