Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental value:
- To get the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront 3 BR Condo 10th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
