Finding the best rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 1 Bedroom at a 57-acre Oceanfront Property + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
