Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To get the largest rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to pick the best vacation home:
- To start, have your group decide on date ranges and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 11th-floor partial ocean-view snowbird-friendly condo with AC & W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
