Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First, have your family decide on vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. \"A Hidden Gem\" - 4 Minutes to the Beach!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If not, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.

- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective.
