How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking the rightvacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Brand new! 3 bdr/2ba Steps from waterpark has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
