Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect rental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 4 Bedroom Cottage in the Shore Drive section has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Have a great stay:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
