Rental booking tips:
Finding the best rental value:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 4 bedroom pool home 1 block from the Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
