Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 422 small steps to the ocean! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Have a great stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
