Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
Finding the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 4br Presidential Condo Luxury Family Fun on Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your group.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
