How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

How to select the best rental home:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 5th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, pool, hot tub & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
