Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. WATER VIEWS WALK 2 BEACH GREAT RENO FULL ACCESS 8C has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
