Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- To start, have your family commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 8th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, pool, hot tub & gym - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
