Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and picking a perfectrental:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Amazing Clean 4th floor condo, newly furnished, new paint, carpet, privet Wifi, has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
