Strategies to get the best vacation property experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. New Arrowhead 101 in Kingston w/ Pool & beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
