Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • To start, have your group choose trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Penthouse Beachfront 22-23rd Floors-Fully Remodeled 2022 Very Quiet Neighborhood has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
