Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose the best Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Penthouse Beachfront 22-23rd Floors-Fully Remodeled 2022 Very Quiet Neighborhood has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your family.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
