Rental home booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Planning and choosing yourrental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautiful private end unit! Featuring 2b/2b near swimming pool. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
