How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Beautiful Suite with Side View of Ocean + Access to Resort Amentities has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Know before you go:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
