Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautifully Remodeled Studio! Sand Dunes 1148 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
