Booking the best rental home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your family select date ranges and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Captivating Oceanfront Three Bedroom: 8th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
