Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your family choose vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Corner oceanfront 16th floor beauty with full access to all resort amenities has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
