Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Booking in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Cozy- 2bdrm and kids loft bedroom w\/ Golf Cart has 4 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your family.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
