Getting the best vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Delightful Harbour Lights, 2 Bedroom Combined has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
