Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Entire relaxing suite w\/ pool-Golf course-hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
