Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to select the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- M1606 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
