Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the perfect vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
- M1606 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
