Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have discounts for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and pick the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. FUN AND SUN IN 801 Ocean Views, Resort Amenities has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
