How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- To find the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Large Condo- Beautiful Views of the Pool, Courtyard and Ocean, 2 Balconies! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email the host before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
