Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review.
