Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Magnolia Pointe Unit 301 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
