Rental home booking tips and tricks:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation home:

  • To start, have your group agree to dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach Resort PB0451 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
