Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
Finding the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Myrtle Beach Resort RT1511 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
