Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. $150 activities - E-gift card when you book - 1st Floor with Screened in Porch
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
