Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

How to select the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. MyrtleWoods beautiful first floor condo+pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If not, email the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
