Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking the perfectrental:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. New Honeymoon King Suite, Oceanfront, Heated Pools has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
