Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the best Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. UPDATED Ocean front Caravelle Resort condo w\/full kitchen & KING BED has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
