Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. New Landmark Resort Direct Oceanfront - Low Floor! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
