Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick yourrental:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. NEW! Mermaid Townhouse, Beach Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
