How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Booking in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing and booking the perfectrental home:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. 2 bedroom 2 bathroom fantastic getaway with views of ocean from LR & balcony. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
