Tips to get the optimal rental home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Newly Renovated- Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Suite- Sand Dunes 2726 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
